A storytelling group for people of all faiths. Persons who minister to others within their faith tradition, shape character and instill values, counsel or simply wish to have their spirit uplifted by story are welcome. Come to tell and/or listen, share resources and methods and make contact with others who are drawn to the spiritual and moral power of storytelling. This is a "come when you can" opportunity. Books, resources and handouts on storytelling will be available. Feel free to bring a friend. The Story Circle of the Capital District was established to provide members an opportunity to tell before a live audience; to hear stories told; to give the community a roster of active storytellers; and to encourage beginning storytellers. Members tell tales to all ages in parks, museums, libraries, nursing homes, coffee houses and classrooms, at festivals, for professional and civic groups and at religious events. We meet alternately from 7-9 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of odd numbered months at the Colonie Town Library and from 6-9 p.m. the 3rd Wednesday of even numbered months at the Guilderland Public Library.

Multi-faceted storytellers Bells & Motley's have held a powerful artistic vision over their 20 year partnership. They lead audiences of all ages into the experience of distant historical eras and cultures, appealing to all the senses through the beauty and sound of their authentic musical instruments, costume, language, tales, and interactive storytelling techniques. The artists' favorite story themes include "long ago and far away," Medieval and Renaissance tales, Early American and Erie Canal stories, and myths and legends of other cultures (Chinese, Irish, Breton, French...) The authenticity and impact of each tale is underscored by music on the artists' richly varied historic instrumentarium. Historic holiday tales and pageants, including those in which the community participates, are a specialty. The artists enjoy presenting for schools, communities, historic sites, and special needs audiences across their home state of New York, and have also engaged in specialty projects and multicultural exchanges all over the US, in Canada, Europe, and even Istanbul!

A professional storyteller for over 15 years, Carol performs for both children and adults at schools, libraries, museums, colleges, cafes, nature preserves, festivals and conferences, and for professional and civic organizations in New York, New England and North Carolina. Her constantly expanding repertoire includes myths, folk and fairy tales, literary tales, and modern "real-life" tales. In addition to her solo performances, Carol is a member of the highly acclaimed storytelling quartet, Four Stories High and the musical storytelling duo, Tales `n Tunes.

Four Stories High is a storytelling quartet which brings both traditional and modern tales to adult and family audiences. Composed of Jane Ainslie, Carol Connolly, Barbara Palumbo, and Mary Murphy, the group has been called "the perfect picture of what storytelling is all about." Four Stories High has appeared at Albany's First Night, Troy's Victorian Stroll, The Norman Rockwell Museum, NYS Imagination Celebration, Caffe Lena, and Sharing the Fire Storytelling Conference, Boston, MA., as well as in school, library, and college settings.
