Old Songs Festival - music with roots


	33rd annual Old Songs Festival June 28, 29 & 30, 2013 Altamont Fairgrounds, Altamont, NY Old Songs is a family-friendly festival of folk, traditional, Celtic and world music and dance, known for its relaxed atmosphere, interactive sessions and workshops,hands-on experience and participatory nature. In addition to three concerts there are 120 daytime workshops given by performers. Also featured are a juried craft show, food and instrument vendors, and a well-run children's activity area. 	New Dance Floor! We are pleased to announce that we will be able to provide a wooden dance floor in the Dance Building this year! Image: detail from a photo by Bob Cohen taken at the 2012 Flurry Festival Dancers have been begging for this for years, as a springy wooden floor is far easier on the feet and knees and makes for a more pleasurable dancing experience. We've looked into the cost of building and storing such a floor in the past, and the costs proved to be prohibitive. However, we are now able to rent a floor from the same outfit that has been providing flooring for some of the dance areas at the Flurry Festival in Saratoga. One important CAVEAT: You must bring a pair of clean, soft-soled shoes to change into for dancing.
